Profile

Name LEE, Hwakyung (イ ファギョン)
Year of Enrollment April 2020

Please describe your hometown.

I was born in Australia and lived there for about 7-8 years. After that, I came to Korea and lived there until I came to Japan. First of all, Australia is a country of diverse immigrants. Korea, on the other hand, is a country that has a special affection or attachment called ‘Jeong’. Interacting with people from diverse backgrounds makes it possible for me to learn about cultural differences.

Among different universities in Japan, why did you choose the Faculty of Global Management at Chuo University?

I believe that GLOMAC aids me in studying a wide range of fields, including cross-community management, economics, and elective courses. I thought these opportunities would teach me how to accept and respect various values from multilateral perspectives.

What do you find interesting at GLOMAC?

It was impressive that there were significantly more international students with diverse backgrounds compared to other universities or faculties. In addition, I think GLOMAC aims to actively communicate with international students and to learn practical things through various courses and programs, such as ‘Global Studies’.

What are the challenges of international students in Japan?

I think most of the international students would experience times of feeling lonely living away from their family and home. However, since there are so many international students who feel the same at Chuo University, I believe that making friends and communicating with them will help you feel less lonely.

If you could explain GLOMAC in 3 words, what would they be?

Diversity, Respect, Opportunity

What are your study or career plans for the future?

After graduation, I plan to obtain management-related experience working in the field of marketing or go to graduate school in a related major, utilizing multilateral perspectives, communication skills, and cross-cultural understanding that I have cultivated at GLOMAC.

Do you have any advice for international students who think of entering GLOMAC?

GLOMAC is a faculty where diverse students from different backgrounds gather to freely exchange opinions and share a sense of value. I can say for sure that this place can draw your potential power, so don’t hesitate to join us!
